I throw it hard but I think my formula is based mostly on muscle and less on technique. I am sure it could be fifty percent better. It's supposed to be the most powerful punch this side of a shoryuken (forward, down, forward, any punch button) but it doesn't seem to be a technique people a able to communicate very well. Help!

chuck lidell would teach that it should be thrown with the same motion as throwing a baseball. It's a great punch when used well I just think it's thrown too much (I know I throw it too much) and too often it isn't thrown as an overhand right it is thrown as a poor technique straight right.

That makes a lot of sense. I have always used it to clinch, and for that it works marvelously, but I want to #$%# someone up, otherwise I wouldn't wear the gloves, eh?

It sounds funny, but maybe I'll go out and throw around the baseball. I've used less conventional methods, that's for damn sure..

Hahaha, Brilliant man! That made me laugh. Smile

The angle Chuck talks about in the video works real well. I know because one of my old sparring partners used to catch me with the technique on a regular basis. I'm fairly decent guarding against all the main conventional strikes but I never expect the overhand and I get caught with it a lot.

Thanks for the insight gents. Street Fighter for Life, although the best ones in my opinion have been alpha three and vs SNK. I have high hopes for vs tekken but 4 was a huge letdown. Everyone was roided out  and it just didn't give you the depth and versatility. Seriously, choose ONE super combo? It was 09-10, for fuck's sake.

The punch:

It's such a weird angle. I dislike the way it makes my shoulder feel. Much less stable; I don't really throw it because it feels like if I connected hard I might dislocate my freaking shoulder.
