OfflineThis is my first post, so I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Justin and I've been viewing Damagecontrol free videos for about 2 months. I very much enjoy the unconventional ideas that are introduced and have been considering becoming a member.
To get back on topic, I would like to see a video series for No-gi Judo throws and techniques. I've found little success in finding them elsewhere on the web, excluding Karo Parisyan's MMA.
Welcome to the forums Justin! And thank you for becoming a part of the DamageControlMMA Community. Currently we have an Uchi-Mata series up in the members area. And I'll make you a deal. You sign up and the very next video shoot we have we'll cover Tai-Otoshi and Harai-Goshi. Come to think of it, I believe we also have Kosoto-Gake up in there as well, just not by that name.
Make yourself at home. While you're here.

OfflineYeah, welcome to the forums buddy! The Uchi-Mata series is excellent. Sign up cos I'd love to see the other throws covered too heehee!
In all honesty the members section is the best value for money learning for MMA you will find anywhere. My whole game has improved tenfold from when I started using the members section. Even sign up and try it for one month and you'll realise you won't want to lose it after a month. It's invaluable information for any MMA practicioner. Get posting too man!

I did find this great video for the Uchi-mata.
LOL. That's a guy known around here parts as "Balletman". He's actually from SLC Utah and fought for a time, in the same promotion as many of our fighters. His actual name is Ramsey Dewey. He now resides in China somewhere. In fact he posted in our forums not so long ago in the thread concerning Jake Paul's photo image.
I laugh because of how small the world is. Of all the videos you could have posted up in here, you chose one from a guy that we actually know.
My grandfather was a 3rd Degree Kodakan Blackbelt in Judo and my father is a 2nd Degree Blackbelt. He earned his 2nd at the actual Kodokan in Japan. From my limited experience (I never studied for any length of time), which is through them (my Grandfather and father), we actually execute those techniques quite differently. The direction of force for Kiser and I is much less rotational and much more linear. And the load point for the Uchi-mata is much higher on the leg more on the hip, just above the ass cheek and without "hooking the leg" as seen in the video below at about 3:20 in. Different strokes for different folks. In the end it's about what works for you.

OfflineThank you for the great advice. That O-Guruma at the end of the video is heavenly.

Here are two more videos I've found.
Happy viewing. Good stuff.
I've always wanted to study Judo. I'm currently involved in Folkstyle and Greco wrestling and looking at a state championship in both, but Judo has always caught my eye. I've never had the opportunity to pursue it because all we have around here, in the middle of a vast ocean of cornfields and cattle, is boxing and wrestling.
By the way, welcome to the forums! Also, I love your signature. Bruce Lee is one of my role models. :)

Offlinethis is a very interesting thread with some great videos. thanks guys for posting this stuff. i've got to admit that it has opened my eyes to a new form and has piqued my interest somewhat. i guess i know what i'll be doing the rest of the afternoon.
now a rookie question: are many of these throws incorporated in one form or another into most MMA events or are they just a fluke? what i guess i'm trying to ask is are there many noted MMA-ists that are trained and include judo into their matches?

OfflineKaro Parisyan, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, and Yoshihiro Akiyama are all great Judo practitioners in the MMA setting. And no, not many MMA fighters utilize many Judo techniques. Many fighters find that Judo is well rounded, but however find BJJ or Wrestling to be more beneficiary, though with proper technique Judo in an MMA setting can be devastating.

OfflineI wanted to ask for these techniques to better my use of Judo in MMA actually.
I have my first cage fight in June. So I'm trying to collect some tricks for these sleeves.
