I didn't get to post this last night before their inaugural show, but MMA Live is now in a trial run on ESPN 2.  If you've never watched the webcasts from ESPN.com, it's a short, informative show (usually about 30 minutes) that features John Anik and Franklin McNeal as recurring analysts along with notables such as Kenny Florian, Stephan Bonner and Miguel Torres.  They are approved for 7 episodes through the month of May and for the first time ever, a major sports network will be doing pre and post shows for the UFC PPVs.  It comes on at 11pm, Mountain time, so I had to DVR it, but it's definitely 20-25 minutes well spent.  Let's give these guys the noteriety and the following they deserve and help support their fledgeling effort.

*Breaking news from MMA Live on ESPN 2*

"The rumors about Shogun's injury were incorrect, but he was not 100%
for tonight's fight against Lyoto Machida.  Shogun came down with
Apendicitis a few months before the fight, and had to undergo major
surgery.  The procedure was kept under wraps, but Shogun confirmed it
tonight on MMA Live.
According to UFC sources, the UFC was prepared for the worst case
scenario.  It was rumored earlier this week that the company had Randy
Couture ready to step in to fight Lyoto Machida incase Shogun could not
fight."

This is a really neat program…it's presented in a format for sports fans that they are very familiar with.  Let's hope they do this for all major MMA events, not just the UFC.

Yeah, I agree I like it although at times it feels patronising but I realise they are trying to educate newer fans. Aside from that it's really cool. I heard them mention that Roy Nelson once beat Frank Mir in a grappling match. akes me think I've really been underestimating Roy Nelson.
