I shoulda checked in here prior to watching the finals to comment on the other thread. I thought it was a shocking World GP. Badr looked wild in both of his first matches, like a man on a mission, I knew Raslan would be an easy fight for him, thought Uberreem might be the spoiler to the whole GP, but Badr did well there too, then thought he came out WAY to aggressive against Semmy. You have to be cool, calm and collected to stand a chance against him. Semmy is vulnerable once you work in, but he works his kicks and that straight left (I am not calling that thing a jab, lol) so well! Badr needed to calm down, but is immaturity showed it's head again in my mind.

Semmy just straight up hurt Remy, I don't know if he just never got his wits back or what… maybe took an injury early on, but he was just WAY to immobile, I think we can all see that though.

Honestly, as far as the bracket advancement, it was pretty predictable, Hari, Remi, Overreem and Schilt all had pretty easy first rounds, I thought LeBanner would be harder for Semmy, but he should have just stayed in the back and given his spot to Ares, it's a sad day to not see him in a final. He would have put up a better fight than Jerome, that is for sure.

Hari was attempting to use the same gameplan he used to KO Schilt in the 'It's Showtime in Amsterdam' event earlier this year. Part of the problem with trying to use that super aggressive strategy in the K-1 ring is the fact that it is considerably larger. If you watch Aerts' fight with Schilt, he did the same thing…get him backing up and throw heavy leather downrange.

I'm a huge Badr Hari fan, but it seems like he climbs that mountain and falls short at the home stretch every time. I'm glad he avenged his loss to Overeem and defended K-1's honor, but I really wanted to see him rematch Bonjasky.

Karaev came in with into the tournament with leg injuries. Bonjasky suffered a leg injury in his first fight…if you watch him carefully during his walkout to his fight with Schilt, he is limping a little. I'm with you on Schilt's lead hand…Ray Sefo, along with a few others are convinced that he's actually right handed, but fights unorthodox to put his power hand forward. It would explain why he's able to floor people with his jab so often, but that liver kick KO he delivered to Hari was wicked.

Maybe next year will be Badr's year…the guy's got limitless talent and just got dealt a bad hand since Schilt has never entered a K-1 that he didn't win.
