I'm sitting here, working on DamageControlMMA.com Membership Clips, Youtube Clips and watching UFC on Versus Channel.  It's a pretty good time.

No Versus for me, I have Direct TV. I am also on nightshifts.  I wanted to watch this one. I have been really wishing for Vera to get on track and Jones has looked really good against the lower ranks.

Just watched Dos Santos KO Gonzaga.  After watching the Basic Muay Thai Round Kick, can anybody name the mistake or mistakes made that contributed to the Knock Out?

1: He wasn't setting the kicks up with his hands,  2: he never once stepped before throwing the kick and 3, his hands were down.  You could tell by JDS' body language that he had watched film on Gonzaga and knew the tendency was there.  It looked to me like he was waiting for that particular mitake before he put that heavy leather of his downrange.

UFC on Versus Injuries: Brandon Vera suffered three
broken facial bones
from the elbow he took, and Duane Ludwig suffered a
'severe' break to his ankle which will likely require surgery.

What fear said plus no tucking the chin behind the shoulder to deflect the punch at all and no raise of the hand. No 45 degree step. Pretty much no defence haha.

OUCH!! how sore did that elbow from Jones look? I'm not surprised there were fractures. I have not seen the ankle break yet, I heard it was pretty nasty though. Don't know if I want to see it. Undecided

Jon Howards KO was scary, I'm glad that got on to the main card.

Buentello was my hero of the night, After dislocating his finger It looked like he was in extreme pain and maybe even suffering from shock. Popping it back in, Taking an illegal knee to the head on the ground and trying to stand and trade with Kongo really made me realise what a warrior he is. I really wish he made it to the end of the fight though.

I was dissapointed that Clay Guida's fight wasn't shown. I could watch that guy fight a punchbag and be entertained.

Dos Santos looks like the Real Deal, so does Jones. Who do you guys think should be next for them? I think Jones should fight Thiago Silva or maybe Forrest Griffin and Dos Santos maybe against the loser of the Carwin-Mir fight.

Was there an acutal fracture with Vera?  To me it just looked like a very hard elbow right in the temple.  Painful I'm sure.

I saw a pic of Ludwig.  It was from a wierd angle so the break wasn't super clear but you could see that something was amiss.  I wonder if his ankle was dislocated of if the bones actually broke in his lower shin.  It's a rough sport for sure.  I'd like to see the footage so we can see if it was a freak accident of if something contributed to the unfortunate mishap.

Concerning Vera's broken facial bones:

Jeremy Botter of Inside Fighting's Twitter

http://twitter.com/JeremyHeavy…..0859421239

"That sickening, dead meat smacking sound you heard when Jon
Jones
landed his fight-ending elbow strike on Brandon
Vera
last night? That was the sound of Vera’s face being
rearranged. The word is that Vera suffered three broken bones in his face last night,
and the injuries are severe enough that he was reportedly prevented from boarding a plane to go home." -Cage Potato.com
