This might be the only time I see an event before you guys as the Abu Dhabi card was on at 6pm over here as oposed to 3am.

Frankie Edgar had the perfet plan what an impressive upset! I think something must have been up with BJ. He really didn't look his usual self.

Anderson Silva is clearly the most talented fighter on the planet, I don't know what happened there though.

I was dissapointed with Renzo Gracie's performance, I'm putting it down to rust.

Huge upset indeed. I think Florian will be the next belt holder after he takes it from Edgar. Will setup a great Penn-Florian title rematch. BJ looked so low energy, flat-footed, and what was up w/ the knee wrap? Definitely wasn't the same BJ we saw in last several fights.

Poor Kendall, I thought he had that fight, but that GNP was brutal.

I think Silva blew everything in that emotional outburst of frustration in the 2nd (or was it 3rd) round. Rogan thought he was clowning Maia, but I think he was just frustrated that Maia wasn't engaging. He wanted to fight and Maia was just standing there jabbing the air. Maia did turn it on at the last round, but wish he tried that earlier.

Does anyone know who Hughes has been getting his MMA & striking training from? He looked like a real MMA fighter instead of wrestler, striking of clinches, and shopping down Renzo with those leg kicks.

The Silva/Maia fight once again showed that no matter how good your ground game is if you can't take the fight to the ground; you are so f*cked. More specifically, you'll get punched in the thigh, kicked in the hand, flying knee'd spin kicked, taunted, and otherwise made to look like a fool.

Do you guys think that we'll ever see an era where all MMA fighters are well rounded in all aspects of the game, or do you think we will always have specialists that have weaknesses that can be exploited?

I think people will always specialize for one reason or another. Just like in BJJ/Submission Wrestling lots of people gravitate towards being aggressive top gamers vs others who like to play from the bottom. People have their own tendencies and things that they will excel at. Everyone has their comfort zone that they prefer to operate in, so even if they're well versed in all areas, they'll lean towards the one their the most comfortable in. I think Joe Rogan said it once before that true mixed martial artists are great in all areas, but experts in at least one.
