I will be relocating from sparse Wyoming to Texas. I am moving to Odessa- Midland area. My company has transferred me to a natural gas plant in Odessa. If anyone knows of any reputable training facilities in the area please shoot me a  line. I figure I am dreaming but I am hoping to stay within similar realm of training TBA methodology of Muay Thai, and CSW and submission wrestling style of grappling. Right now I just hope I find some place to make a new training home. I will not likely start up a new group in Texas. Who knows though. I have been looking at the Pekiti Tirsia Kali also and I have contacted one of the larger PTK organization in Texas for a line on training group. For how popular martial arts seems in Texas is it doesn't seem that many places exist outside of the BIG cities.

I am taking nearly all of my training equipmentment with me, thank you my lovely wife for allowing. We are downsizing our lives and selling nearly everything else. No huge moving trucks as my new boss put it I maybe the Jed Clampet of Wyoming. I have lived here the last 15 years and its time for the next Chapter. I do not handle the cold very well anymore and working in it makes it even less enjoyable. Time to go south. I will probably make a good Texan, similar mindset and ideology of things.

My relocation date at end of Feb. So it stinks that I will not be able to attend the CSW seminar in SLC, UT in March. I was so looking forward to it. My training group I will be leaving in the capable hands of Dave Wenig a Machado BJJ Blue belt from Denver, CO lineage. And the Fighter Casey Barnum. David just scored a 42X42 mat surface for 1100 buck at auction. I cannot believe the luck. They will be fine and even prosper to new levels.

Enough dribble, I will stay a part of DamageControlMMA.

Khuen Khru Joe McDaniels is an excellent TBA Instructor in the Texas area.  He doesn't run a school per se, at least not last time we talked, but I'd look him up on the TBA website and give him a call regardless.  He'll know the local lay of the land and be able to get you pointed in the right direction either way.

I'd Check the CSW website for contacts in TX.

As for DamageControlMMA, The Big State is one of our BIGGEST supporters, with more subscribers than any other state.  It's just that they're quiet is all.  Come on Texans, sound off!

Best of luck with your move and high hopes for a bright future!

Talked to Coach Ray Yee today from Abq, NM. He is roughly the closest I can find who is both a TBA instructor and CSW. He is going to make some calls and see if anyone has groups around also still.

I have a couple of months till I am relocated so I will see what evolves out of it.

Dates are set. I leave Wyoming Feb 5th, start at new facility Feb 11th.

Nearly packed and most things are sold.

Any feelers for training in the Odessa – Midland area let me know.

Let us know what comes of it.  There are a lot of Texans on here.  Believe it or not.  I know it's a big state but my fingers are crossed that some Damage Control Boys can get togther and start up a training group.

Yeah last night water pipe burst. I guess they don't build to allow for the level of cold we get up north. Pets holding up decent in hotel room, man I miss the doggy door.
