I really like Manny but I believe Floyd wins this one. It's comes down to a matter of will for Manny to win but I'm afraid Floyd has too many skills so Manny will not be able to test his will.

This is the reason so many people are turning their back on boxing, The two best boxers in the world can't agree to fight each other so one will take a huge risk in fighting a man that was caught with plaster of paris under his gloves and was apparently banned from fighting in the US? Mayweather-Pacquiao will end up happening in around 5 years once neither are regarded among the elite. It's a sad state for boxing right now.
At least we get the rematch between Marquez and Diaz tonight WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! their first fight was one of the most exciting fights I've ever seen. It was a true classic!

I hope Mayweather vs Pacquiao happens in 2011 but I'm afraid you might be right. It might happen after they are both past their primes.

what is the general consensus here guys? is this Floyd ducking Manny or Manny not wanting to fight Floyd? Personally I think this is on Floyd. I don't think he wants to fight Manny. I think that little Philippino terror would hand Floyd his first professional loss

I agree, It's Floyd. Mayweather said he would only fight Manny if he took Olympic style drug testing. Firstly Manny refused as he didn't want blood taken before a fight. As Floyd wouldnt budge Manny relented and said he would do it but not within 21 days of the fight. Floyd said 14, Manny agreed. Floyd then said any time up to the fight. Manny agreed to within 2 days of the fight and after it too. Floyd said ridiculously the day of the fight.
Floyd Mayweather is a disgrace. Manny said he's not bothered if the fight happens or not, he's already cemented his Legacy.
Floyd is not going to risk his perfect record against Pacman when he can still make multi millions for fighting far lower risk opponents.
They're both Multi Millionaires at the moment so I don't see money motivating them. I don't see this fight happening anytime soon.

I agree. I don't see this fight happening. add in floyd's legal issues and it just doesn't seem probable to me. plus floyd would want a warm up fight first which puts the timeline back even further.
I just don't see the steroids thing though. Manny has put on 40 lbs since he turned pro at 16 years old. 40lbs in 15 years isn't that difficult. especially considering his poor heritage. I've put on that much weight since I was 16 and no one has suspected me of taking steroids.

Haha, great point buddy. I think people are questioning him because it's not normal for little guys to move up weight divisions yet still retain their speed and carry their power up with them.

Thats a fair point. It's not normal, but I wouldn't put it so far out of bounds as to suspect steroids. maybe we should suspect james toney of using steroids too. Im sure he has put on 40lbs recently.

I don't know if Manny is using Steroids or not but I would suspect not. I don't see him or Freddie Roach as the kind of people to look in that direction to gain an advantage. I know Manny's technical game has improved immensly since his days as a super bantam and that Roach has made Manny his pet project putting all of his effort into Manny and his development. I think he was a very fast fighter even in the lighter weight divisions, as he moves up he 's still significantly faster than most others. As his speed generates the power and combined with the volume of shots and accuracy the KO's will still come.

I don't get that impression either. I am not much of a boxing fan. I watched Freddie Roach on Tuf the other day and the way he worked the mitts and commented on the guys. It was only a moment in time not alot of footage. Just doesn't seem to have the impression. But I have been suspect of other camps in mma, that don't give off that vibe but seem to have several athletes over the years pop hot when tested.
Now a coach, coaching and what an athlete is doing outside the gym are different. People don't always share what they are doing outside of the gym with the staff especially if it might be shady.

That was a good episode of TUF. It was interesting to see what he said about feedback for each fighter. It's cool to hear a professionals opinion to see if I'm seeing the same things or if I'm way off base and completely wrong.
