Since I have been on TRT 5 years I have a knowledge of this. Dr seems inept if this is honest.
You don't make an aggressive treatment. That isn't how hormone therapy works or should be treated ethically. 3 weeks out you would have gone through testosterone cypionate or propinate half lives twice. 7-9 days is the HALF life. Deca has a longer 1/2 life, and is inflammatory(bad), more aromatization(bad), so most professional trt docs don't use it. Topicals are great, but expensive and have a very short 1/2 life(good but spendy) just a day or two. You peak just before your 1/2 life period and then levels will start dropping after that. Swinging with peoples hormones from high to low is like a girl having that time of the month but you get yours every two weeks. Been there done that with a Dr. that didn't want me to do weekly shots. Didn't understand 1/2 life or the hormone cycle, needless to say — fired. I found someone who did.
How big a shot they give him? I was at my worst point was using 140 mg/ week to keep me around 850 ng/dl which is low middle range for my age group. Nate is roughly my age, his high range levels are probably 1100 – 1300 ng/dl.
140mg is typically .7 mls that isn't even a 1 on the syringe. So how aggressive were they? if they did 1ml a week for two weeks it could have been enough to hose him. I read somewhere his levels were originally 3 times the limit. His Dr. way over did it or some 1/2 truths are being said. Still that could be 2 mls and then if they don't catch him somewhere in day 4-5 of the hormone cycle it is going to be high. You should test midway between scheduled shots.
Since I have gotten alot healthier I am down to .5 mls a week. That is all I need to stay in mid range of my age targets.
I will take it. I have had to take many other things celexa, welbutrin, high blood pressure, this and that. TRT or HRT which ever it is the same. I know take testosterone and feel good instead of just getting by.
If Nate isn't fibbing any I feel for him and he needs a new Dr. that truly understands what is going on. Or TRT is a scapecoat. As a person who advocates how TRT can be life changing I hope it is the first part. If you stay in the recognized ranges for your age I see no reason why people should not be able to compete and be on TRT but I think they definately would need to report their bloodwork to the commissions on the testing intervals.
Once you are dialed in a Dr. typically will go no longer than 6 months for a hormone profile. If they really good they don't do saliva (very inacurate), blood (only show a moment in time), they do a 24 hour urine analysis. Yep you collect 24 hours worth of urine send in a composite. It gives a broader more accurate sample of what your hormones are doing.
I have always like Nate, I hope this is all true to task and he can go one and be a dominate force again. I have other ideas of PED and sports but I leave that out of this overly long post as it is.
My .02 well it might be more than that .05 cents for length.

some quotes below….
—————-
"Do I think he was trying to cheat? Let's put it this way, he was either trying to cheat, or he has a horrible doctor," White said. "You tell me, which one is it, I don't know. This is one of those things where I can't talk about this guy's medical records but it's pretty clear what this is.
"Nate Marquardt's a really nice guy," White said. "He's sweet, he's polite, he's very humble. But it is what it is. Like I said to the media earlier, it's a lot easier to go after Josh Barnett. He's abrasive and rude, and he's a d***. It's easier to point at Josh Barnett and go, 'ugh, Josh Barnett.' What's the difference? The difference is Nate Marquardt is really nice, and a real humble and sweet guy."

"It's an ugly loophole. I think there [are] guys that need to do it because they have to, but then there [are] guys doing it because you can do it, because you can say 'I'm in here for testosterone replacement.' If you're a professional athlete, you should be going to a credible doctor who says 'yes you need this thing because your testosterone is low and we're going to give you [a small amount] to boost you up to the right levels' and when you do your blood tests your levels should be what a normal guy's levels should be.
