Hey guys…the soreness in my legs post kick test is preventing me from going out and cavorting for the time being, so I thought I’d finally get signed up over here.

"Sir, you think I one step ahead. I five step ahead sir." – Ajarn Chai -

See, my plan worked beautifully.

Ha ha.

Seriously guys, Konrad was one of our first two students (along side Paul) to test for their Thai Shorts under Khuen Khru Will Bernales.

That would make it seem as though we haven't been around very long. We've been open since 2000. With the exception of a few old timers who where around before Khuen Khru Will was standardizing testing procedures and had moved on prior to them being in place, it's just that no one had the stones to do it. And I don't blame them, nor do I look down on them in any way.

The "initiation" which I will be "blogging" about in the next few weeks, is only for those interested in becoming Instructors in the Thai Boxing Association of the USA. You can still learn Muay Thai and Thai Boxing at our gym and never have to subject yourself to the "kick test" if you don't want to. Only those who wish to some day be instructors under Ajarn Chai/Ajarn Greg Nelson.

Yesterday's test was one of the toughest for that particular level that I have ever seen… And we have video to prove it. Typically the path here in Utah (under State Representative Khuen Khru Will Bernale's direction) goes: "Shorts Test" – "Level I" – "Level II" – "Associate Instructor under Ajarn Chai/Ajarn Greg Nelson".

I can honestly say that Konrad and Paul made me very proud. I was a little nervous because they looked a little stiff during the technical portion of the test but what they lacked in that department, they more than made up for in guts, balls and hearts of gold.

THAT WAS BRUTAL!

Gread job sir and welcome to the forums.
