OfflineMy name is Nick Walters, I am in the Air Force (until June 9th, 2010… not like I am counting though, lol). I'm 27, married with 2 dogs and no kids and I have been training in one form or another for about 5 years now and train under a GREAT staff at Ivey Leage MMA in Annapolis now. Outside of work and training, I am into cars, specifically European cars, more specifically, German cars, and even more specifically Volkswagens.

OnlineMy name is Robert. I live in Glasgow, Scotland with my Fiancee and my two daughters. Unfortunatley I dont get time to train so much these days due to my shift patterns at work and looking after my kids when my fiancee is at work. I work as a fitness consultant in a leisure facility. If I do get time to train I go to the Griphouse gym in Glasgow where I will train in Thai Boxing, No-Gi grappling or MMA. I have done many other arts in the past but these are the areas I feel will benefit me most at the moment. I'd like to have some professional MMA contests in the future when I can get more training time in. I love to learn any type of fighting techniques and love gaining knowelege of fighting. Glad to have found this place!

OfflineHey my name is Matt, I’m 15 years old and I live in Connecticut. I’m a varsity wrestler for my high school and have been taught jiujitsu by several of my very talented wrestling coaches (A submission grappler, a 4 time state champion, a blue belt under Royce Gracie, and more recently an Olympic Judoka). Before high school I was taught an independent style for 8 years, which was branded as Karate despite it being more similar to the likes of Krav Maga. Due to my age at the time, I earned a Junior Black Belt before my instructor moved and retired.
As far as preferred techniques go, I have rather long legs so I have succeeded in becoming a fairly good leg rider. BJJ wise, I train strictly no-gi and my favorite submissions are the Rear Naked Choke and Triangle. My jiujitsu idols are Marcelo Garcia and Eddie Bravo, and my MMA idols are George St. Pierre and Demian Maia.
I hope to soon get to know most of the current and future registrants (yes, that is a real word). This is a very promising site. =]
Best,
CrockettM
Welcome to Damage Control MMA friends. Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to throw your weight around the place, start up your own discussions, ask questions, make suggestions, share your favorite techniques etc.
Our goal with this site is two pronged. On one side I want to provide entertaining content related to all topics of Men's Interest. We're working on some stuff outside of MMA like how to make a Combat Cappuccino with freeze dried coffee grounds and a run of the mill Black and Decker Coffee Maker.
On the other side, I want to create a symposium where like minded individuals can join forces to create powerful and effective "technique series". It's already started over in the "Catch Wrestling Shin Lock" article (http://damagecontrolmma.com/the-catch-wrestling-shin-lock/). The flow has gone from a few seed techniques to a game based around the Shin Lock. My hope is that with the help of you wise and experienced individuals we can continue to expound on these ideas to develop chains and flows that leverage one technique on another and in so doing improve all of our games.
Thank you again for all of your support and Happy Hunting!

OfflineI'm not sure if this is the exact right place for this, but I did happen to pull off the shin lock today against the most skilled of my wrestling coaches after he took my back. I loved the leverage and force behind it and would much appreciate it if you could begin to share the rest of the "game" you've built around it. =]

OfflineHey guys, my name's Andrew and I'm from Ohio.
Just recently graduated High School and I'm attending Ohio State University in the fall. I'm doing, and still doing a "karate"-branded mix of BJJ, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Kyokushin similar to what CrockettM was talking about for 10 years now. We labeled it as JKD for awhile, but you really can't label it that I suppose. We still do kata for tradition, but I think it's great for the breathing.
Anywho, wanted to support you guys by joining, because your videos are a gold mine of information. Really makes me think from another perspective. Incorporated plenty of it during sparring sessions.
For starters, I hope I'm posting this information right.
I'm new to the world of MMA, but looking to start training after I finish up my schooling (within the next six months). I have always been a fan and love to learn new things and kick ass, so I figured this would be a great new thing for me to achieve.
I'm a full-time paralegal and a full-time student, living in the Salt Lake, Utah area and I'm looking forward to finally devoting some time to the wondeful information in here and meeting some awesome people as well.
Good luck to everyone!
Sup yall
Adam from the big TX. Been into MMA for as long as I can remember. Trained a little BJJ in high school many moons ago and got back into training really heavy about 3 years ago. There are no schools in my one horse city so I'm happy I found this site and that I have good training partners and a patient and supportive wife. Looking forward to up'ing my game with the skills found here. If you are in Texas, hit me up, lets train.

OfflineI'm Kyle from Naples, Florida. i'm 30, married, have a 7-month old boy, 2 pit bulls, and a damn cat. i've been training in a Muay Thai-based studio for 2 years here in Naples. I've grown to love learning all the skill sets associated with MMA and look to further my training. along with being a part-time instructor for beginners teaching the basics, i've most recently began to learn HapKiDo. it's an awesome artform with wrist and elbow locks to start. this stuff is amazing and love it!

OfflineHi, my name is Aaron Camacho. I've been training submission grappling consistently for the past couple of years though I was first introduced to grappling several years ago when I lived in Santa Monica, CA. Since then I have moved to Warrensburg MO, and was fortunate to have a gym open up across from my house.
I've been lurking and posting on forums since then.

OfflineHi there
My name is Vinny and I come from Glasgow. I was introduced to this site by my friend Robert or "naturalbornfighter1" as he is known on here.
Great site, filled with ideas and I am looking forward to learning more through the weeks and months ahead.
thanks again, keep up the good work!
Vinny
Thanks for stopping by Vinny! Man I'm so stoked for all of our friends from around the world. In the early UFC's and PFC's I was always so stoked at how diverse and how international the sport of MMA is. To think that we are using combat sport as a means of building a community of friendship is really something else.
To steal a phrase from someone we all know and love "We are all one!"

OfflineVideos are fan-tastic. we've already used a couple of them for 2 short (but intense) sessions over the last few days. "Hop right, right" is a great one for beginners like me. naturalbornfighter1 is a great teacher! Also enjoyed todays free video.
Keep it up guys!
Also, I look forward to James Toney receiving a "right malkying" as we say in Glasgow from Randy C this weekend at UFC118!
