Bore da! I'm Matt from Wales. I train in traditional jujitsu and Muay Thai and have just found your site via a thread on another forum. Loved the video I watched on hitting the sciatic nerve with leg strikes (though Kaiser was enjoying being written on a bittoo uch though!).

Looking forward to picking up more advice and training tips from people here. And hopefully contributing a bit myself!

Diolch!

Hey Matt, good to have you over here. I recognise your name from martial arts planet. It was me that posted the leg kick video. Im sure there's a lot of stuff you can add to your Thai boxing on here. The technical instruction from Dr.Sick and coach Kiser is exceptional. Welcome to the forums buddy!Smile

Hi Rob, thanks for posting the video. Looking forward to picking up some good tips/techniques/advice to improve my Muay Thai. Loving it at the moment, so much so I've been on a sabbatical from jujitsu to get extra sessions in!

Heehee, no probs buddy, The video is one of my all time favourites. Check out the 'anatomy of the liver shot' and anatomy of a triangle videos too. They're awesome. There's a whole world of Muay Thai instruction on here you cant help but improve.

Do you just train Thai and Jiu-Jitsu or do you train MMA style too?

Just Thai and Jujitsu at the moment. A friend from Glasgow (incidentally) got me interested in MMA nearly 3 years ago, which led to me getting back into martial arts agina. Had a look around and thought I'd give jujitsu a go and then recently took up Muay Thai when I moved house a few months ago and there was a class in the leisure centre 200yds away! I've no plans to try my hand at MMA though…yet! One of the Thai clubs I go to has a fully fitted MMA gym at their main HQ so I can see myself giving it a go when I get a bit fitter!

Where do you train in Glasgow? My mate (Mark) has started training with the Dinky Ninja (I think).

Thats sweet man, I train with the dinky ninja's in the Griphouse whenever I get a chance, It's not so often these days though. I usually end up training with buddies til I can get to train properly at the Grip. What's Mark's second name? I'll probably know him. The MMA bug will probably catch you soon heehee!

McGeary. I'm pretty sure he used to train at the Battlefield Gym previously. I've been threatened with a trip to Wolfslair when he's down at work next although I think I might have left it a bit too late to start MMA at 38! I'm really into the old Muay Thai at the moment, only wish I'd started it years ago but that's bleeding typical isn't it??

I'll probably know him to see him, It's never too late. If you're enjoying it then keep going and just be the best you can be!
