It's been hell on earth. I had two surgeries on my left knee and just had the 4th of 4 on my right knee 3 weeks ago. At this point I don't think they know what they are doing. I miss America. I've had constant pain for almost 2 years. I can only hope they got it right this time and that my knees will let me do Stand-Up and Takedowns after I have rebuilt the muscle.

The craziest thing is that I could always do groundfighting. I was missing the ACL in both knees, had multiple miniscus tears but I could always spar though I was never at 100%.

I really liked the page on leg kicks. My stand-up background is Olympic style TKD and boxing so your videos were great to understand the mentality of a thai boxer when attacking and defending the legs.

JMall, wow that's a lot of surgeries.  Hows it feeling after 3 weeks?  How long until you can start rehab and building back strength in leg?

I don't know you man but I know what you mean by hell on earth. The strength and fitness coach at my school's philosophy on lifting is put on as much as you physically can and do it once or twice or three times and do that like 3 or 4 sets. So we have a lot of knee and shoulder injuries because of weak ligaments and tendons from so much stress. I do my own workout (less weight more reps) most of the time so I'm healthy for the most part. But yearly we have between ten and twenty ACL/miniscus/rotator cuff tears out of a school of about 100 atheletes. It's dumb but our strength coach is very stubborn.

Sterling,

After 4 weeks it's still swollen. The doctor said that the cartilage is breaking apart and won't heal properly for some reason. He said he has never seen anything like this before which does not give me confidence in him. I might be making a trip back to the U.S. to see a specialist and hopefully avoid a knee replacement.

Dickey,

That sounds crazy. I think you are doing the intelligent thing. Train hard, but don't break your body down.
