Kiser and I have been stretched to the limits as of late and as a result, have not been able to update the Damage Control MMA site with a snappy new post as is customary. For that we sincerely apologize. But never fear, we still have a few tricks up our rash guards and here is a gem from our friends in Oregon:
Resources have been tight lately as Coach Kiser has been traveling extensively to corner and work with Former Bodog Fighter Kyacey Uscola.
He was off to Puerto Rico for half a week for some touch up work, leaving me to tend to the flock, which I was more than happy to do, we have such an incredible student body… then again, a day at the beach sipping pina coladas doesn’t sound so bad either.
Shortly thereafter he was in Boise ID to corner for Kyacey again. This time along side Former WEC Champion Urijah Faber.
Meanwhile, back at Mushin headquarters, training was at full throttle as the staff and I struggled to keep up with Jake “The Snake” Paul while he pushed beyond his usual rigors to prepare for his 3rd Gladiator Challenge Title Fight.
For the 4th time this year Jeremy Horn pits one of his fighters (Cole Rose) and his coaching abilities against Mushin Fighter Corps and Jake Paul as the chips are pushed into the center of the cage Saturday October 26th 2009 as the marquee fight of Gladiator Challenge’s Reality Check. We never take an opponent lightly and Cole Rose is no exception. This will be a true test of Jake’s skills.
And in the distance an epic battle looms between Former UFC fighter Josh Burkman and TUF Veteran Brandon Melendez. While Jake rested and recharged his energy stores this week, Melendez was hard at work. Thankfully, Coach Kiser was back in full force and between Khru Anderson, Kiser, Jake, the senior fighters, Mushin Students, and myself, we’ve been able to jump start his training camp and really make some headway in terms of our game plan and conditioning drills.
So if we’re a little distant and less frequent than usual, please hang in there. We’ll be back in full force very soon… In the meanwhile, stop by and support our fighters. They’ve worked hard and are going to put on some spectacular fights!
